Steve Jones

    Steve is a graduate of Cox High School in Virginia Beach.  He has been playing drums since 1985, and since 1994 he has been teaching at Moe's Music, where he is also a member of our fabulous sales team.

    He has studied with Ralph Copley, principal percussionist with the Tidewater Winds and the Virginia Symphony.

    Over the years, Steve has worked with many bands, including Loose Gravel and Aliens Among Us.  Currently he juggles two groups; Jet Noise - a local Rock and Roll cover band, and Shock Me - the nationally recognized Kiss tribute band that performs regionally.

    Steve is diverse in many musical styles, including but not limited to; Rock, Pop, Metal, R&B, Classical, Jazz and Blues.  He tries to bring this well-rounded approach into his drum lessons by challenging his students to expand their preconceived ideas of what a drummer can and should be.
